UPCOMING NEW PROJECT

18 months ago, I decided to give priority to a personal project that would be a real turning point in my life.
As part of a research project, it was through a hybrid piece, somewhere between a documentary and a sound slideshow, that I was led to explore the various social issues at stake within my own family. It was a 9-month project (probably not by chance…), like a gestation period, that led me to rethink my relationship with my own profession, after 19 years of practice.
‘Stéréo-Phobies’ questions the canons of representation, the role of narrative, the need to conform to society’s expectations in terms of image, and tolerance in the face of images.
The stereotype is considered through the prism of the injunction to look the way we do, of maternity as a social construct, of a norm respected in my professional practice, but also through that which categorises generations.
If you’re curious to read more about it, you can read the research note HERE. I’m still thinking about broadcasting the film, but I’d be happy to share it with you on request.
In the same way as in climbing, when you’re faced with a crux and the next hold seems inaccessible, and yet, with a bit of hindsight and a re-reading of the route, you can get over the length, these few months of research are now leading me to tame my fears and turn them into a strength: from mid-October, I’ll be studying at the CNAM to expand my knowledge and prepare to broaden my future services.
2 days a week will be devoted entirely to my studies, in principle on Thursdays and Fridays, but I will of course remain flexible if requests for photo services are booked sufficiently in advance.
In the meantime, I look forward to working with you on your various illustration projects, whether to document your events, services or professional projects, or simply for the pleasure of capturing a moment in time in images, together, as a family.
